A Tesla Car Engaged On Autopilot Got Crashed

A Tesla car with its Autopilot feature tied up was been the part in a deadly crash. The event occurred on March 1 in Florida and has left the 50-year-old car driver departed. Experts exposed new particulars about the event on Thursday. As per National Transportation Safety Board, the Tesla driver put the car on Autopilot for about 10 seconds afore the Model 3 sedan crashed with a semi-truck. The driver’s hands were not spotted on the steering wheel for past less than eight seconds. The truck driver was safe and sound.

According to the NTSB’s report, it directs that the Tesla driver was at fault and stated the inquiry is continuing. The news advances more questions around the company’s promotion of Autopilot; Tesla’s semi-autonomous driving software. The CEO of the company, Elon Musk has long assured that full self-driving ability is on the way but it is not available yet and criticizers contend that hitting the Autopilot term on top of a driver-assistance feature could calm people into an untrue sense of confidence, letting them less possible to be entirely attentive and consequently be more susceptible to a crash. The company has constantly safeguarded its Autopilot feature. In its recent statement Tesla stated that the company drivers have registered more than one billion miles while engaging the Autopilot feature, and as per the data it shows that, when used correctly by an alert driver who is ready to take switch at all times, drivers reinforced by Autopilot feature are safer when compared to those functioning lacking with the assistance.

A distinct vehicle safety report from the company displays that in Q1 of this year there was one mishap for all 2.87 million miles driven in which car driver had engaged with an Autopilot feature. The drivers driving a Tesla short of Autopilot, there was one accident for every 1.76 million miles driven.
