Meet the first Philips-branded smartphone to sport a Quad HD display: I966 Aurora
Philips smartphones aren’t well known outside of Asia, but that doesn’t mean there are no interesting devices among them. The latest Philips handset, called I966 Aurora, was recently released in China as the company’s first to sport a 1440 x 2560 pixels display. This Quad HD screen measures 5.5-inches, so we’re dealing with a pretty big handset here.

Interestingly, the I966 doesn’t run Android, like most other Philips smartphones. Instead, it’s based on Alibaba’s YunOS (aka Aliyun OS), a new platform developed for China-only devices.

The high-resolution display isn’t the only notable …

The iPhone 6’s China launch day has come – it’s generally a calm affair
So, after some hurdles, Apple was finally able to launch its latest flagships in China. The country was supposed to be one of the first to receive the handsets, almost a month ago, but Apple seemed to have some trouble getting the proper certifications to sell the device on Chinese soil. This even opened the door for some resourceful people to smuggle iPhone 6 units, bought from abroad, into China and sell them for who-knows-how-much (estimated price).

Well, today, iFans in China can rejoice, as they can buy Apple’s new smartphones the proper way – from an authorized store, or retailer.

The iPad Air 2 improves over its predecessor on several fronts — design, performance, the imaging experience, and a bunch more — …
