The film will be directed by Anurag Kashyap. The production team is still in the hunt for the third central character, which will complete the love triangle of the film’s story.

Taapsee was quite popular down the south for her bubbly roles. In Bollywood, she was admired for her performances in the movies such as Baby and the critically acclaimed movie Pink which was released in the year 2016. Currently, Taapsee is shooting for the film, which is a biopic on Sandeep Singh, the former captain of the Indian national hockey team.

Vicky Kaushal became famous for his performance in the award-winning film Masaan. He has also acted in the movies such as Bombay Velvet and Raman Raghav 2.0. The current and the future projects in which Vicky will be performing are in the biopic of Sanjay Dutt. He will be seen in the movie Raazi, which will also be starring Alia Bhatt. He has also bagged the project Uri. The film is based on the surgical strike that was conducted last year in POK by the Indian army.

According to the sources, the film has a requirement of winter setting, thus most probably the shooting will kick off soon in the state of Himachal Pradesh. In the year 2015, the announcement of the film was made; back then it had Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles and the film’s director was Sameer Sharma. But owing to the creative differences between Aanand L Rai and Sameer, the film couldn’t take off.

After Sharma exited, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the director of the film Nil Battey Sannata, was brought on board. But Tiwari decided to move out and chose to direct Bareilly Ki Barfi. Thus, at last Rai chose Anurag Kashyap for the film’s direction.
